Scanning outdoors

Because of the Pro3 user’s LiDAR, sunlight is no longer an issue. And the upgraded camera and software allow one single, high-quality model for full-Sun captures. This is also incredibly beneficial for capturing digital twin data from large areas, including exteriors, stadiums, and more.

Pro3 accuracy

The Pro3 has an error rate of around 20mm at a 10-meter range. Many factors determine scanning accuracy, depending on the use of the model.

Collect more scan positions

The exact number of scan positions depends on the power and storage of the mobile device you are using as your scan controller for your Matterport Pro3. The more free memory and resources the device has, the greater the number of scan points you can gather.

Scanning speed

Each 360-degree rotation takes less than 20 seconds to complete. For indoor scans, you can follow the same best practices for scanning on the Pro2. For outdoor scanning or capturing large spaces, the increased range of the Pro3 captures more data per scan. It is advised not to exceed the 8m distance between scan setups for outdoor scans.
